Novinger, Ball, & Zivi, a Knoxville-based Certified Public Accounting Firm, is looking for a QuickBooks and Client Service expert for their newly formed Client Accounting and Advisory Services Team.  NBZ has a relaxed but professional culture while helping clients with accounting, tax, bookkeeping, planning and business advisory needs.  The firm provides competitive pay, reasonable work hours, remote work flexibility, ongoing training, and a genuine concern for the success of our teammates and clients. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Client support and training for QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop; includes (but not limited to) accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, payroll set-up and processing, bank and credit card reconciliations, class tracking and journal entries within QuickBooks 
  • Set up new clients in QuickBooks 
  • Record third party payroll transactions and depreciation entries for clients 
  • General ledger review 
  • Preparation of payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, and tangible personal property reports 
  • Bill pay for clients 
  • Onboard clients to a third party accounting platform, maintain assigned accounts and prepare month-end close checklist 
  • Assist tax staff with trial balance clean-up work when time permits 
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 

What you Need to Succeed: 

  • Expert in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online 
  • General ledger experience and significant accounting knowledge 
  • Familiar with financial statements in QuickBooks and running reports 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records 
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills while being able to prioritize  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to take initiative and problem solve
  • Familiarity with Bill.com a plus
  • Experience working with multiple industries a plus
